Members present the breeds they have researched for the Breeds Badge.

First session of a specialty-level badge that builds over several weeks.

Education nights are back for the fall. We covered the history of Pony Club and the meaning of our motto, and started working toward the Breeds Badge.

A TNY member was accepted to compete against Pony Club riders from other countries by video.

A TNY member was chosen for Canada's IMGE team: a 10-day exchange and mounted games competition with riders from New Zealand, Australia, the USA and Great Britain.

A barbecue and potluck to meet the Canadian riders and wish them luck before they left for the International Mounted Games Exchange.

Riders were grouped by level and jump height and coached by Erin Roach, who works with both green ponies and experienced pairs. The clinic was moved from a rained-out May date, and Erin said the whole group was polite and a joy to teach.

Our second mounted games meet of the season.

Part of our TNY Weekend of Fun: an obstacle course in small groups, followed by a pizza lunch for members and families.

The first mounted games competition of the season, after weekly practices since March. Members also ran a bake-sale booth to support our IMGE rider.

Members sold raffle tickets for a basket with $300 in gift cards and treats. Funds raised help keep clinics and events affordable for members.

Our members tested their horse knowledge against clubs from across the region.

Four Wednesday evenings of study and teamwork to get ready for the regional Quiz and build our team project.

Farrier Katelin Schimpl, a graduate of the Olds College Farrier Science program, walked members through the parts of the hoof and everyday hoof care.

Riding, road safety, cooling out, trailering, and how to recognise and handle wounds and lameness.

Keeping a pony stabled or at grass, choosing bedding, feeding well, and looking after ourselves as riders.

How ponies think and learn, for all levels. Members took home a challenge: teach their pony to 'park' using reward-based training.

A barn visit with the Purcell family, breeders of Haflingers. Members learned the parts of the harness and how ponies are driven.

A review of last season's learning plus new material, with D2s and up in their own breakout session. Parents met to go over the year ahead: testing, events and fundraising.

We kicked off the new year with an evening of snow tubing, wearing TNY toques.
